EXPERIENCE

Served as an independent land locator for commercial, industrial, and single family tracts of land throughout Southern California. During those four years Located over $25 million of land. Also served as a licensed real estate agent for Ocean-Forest Development Company, Palm Springs, California; and Ballagh, Dye and Hauserman in Santa Monica.

Founded Bright Ideas neon sign company. For six years designed, fabricated, and installed electric signs. Most of the commercial signs were erected at the Los Angeles and San Francisco airports, and downtown Los Angeles.

Founded All Types Check Cashing, Inc. Two California stores, one in Santa Monica and the other in Rosemead, had annual transactions of $10 million. Both stores are still operating profitably. After two years I sold my interests.

Founded Papa Max's Check Cashing. This business purchased discounted checks from the general public. The company purchased approximately $5 million in checks in its first year of business. It is still operating profitably. After two years I sold my interests.

As Credit Manager of the world's largest card casino, Bicycle Club Casino in Bell Gardens, California, had three major areas of accountability: casino cashiers, customer credit, and central vault. Directly responsible for over $3 million in chips, and over $1 million in cash, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Casino had 2500 full time employees. During that year managerial responsibilities also included staffing, training, labor scheduling, computer systems, collections, and cash requirements.

For two years conducted a business consulting practice. Wrote feasibility reports for business startups. The reports covered long-range planning, financing, marketing, competition, operations, as well as pro-forma income and cash flow projections. In a nutshell, the practical reports covered how to get into business, stay in business, and exit the business without losing your shirt.
